Biography

Head shot

I was born in London on 7th August 1972 and raised in Stamford, Lincs. It's a quaint little Georgian town and I love it.

I went to Stamford High School for Girls, and I have to be honest, I was a bit of a swot (goodness knows how I ended up being a poster girl for the Ladette movement: I always handed my homework in on time!). I left school at 17 to go to the Royal Ballet School. I got kicked out a year later - let's be honest, I was never going to make a living out of miming, was I?!

I then went to The Arts Educational School in Chiswick for two happy years. My dancing career saw me as a corps de ballet girl in 'The Vienna Festival Ballet Company', Alice in 'Seven Brides For Seven Brothers' at The Theatre Royal in Plymouth and as a ballet girl in 'Phantom Of The Opera' in the West End.

I got lucky and got spotted, and made a modest start in TV on Nickelodeon in the early 90s. It was fun, anarchic and very live. My favourite ever item was Sunday morning's 'Beard Of The Day' when Soccer AM's Helen Chamberlain and I would smear a hapless security guard's chin in honey then dip him in the breakfast cereal of our choice... let me tell you, the kids never had it so good!

So from the sublime to the ridiculous: my next job was on Channel 4's 'The Girlie Show'. 1996... Britpop, Loaded, Cool Britannia, Ladettes. You've all seen the TV retrospectives, you get the idea.

Soon after the demise of The Girlie Show I went back to my roots - kids TV - when I joined the Live And Kicking team on Saturday mornings. It was the longest running Saturday morning kids show ever, fact fans!

There's a list of TV programmes here, that I have either presented or been a regular guest on, but suffice to say, I have been broadcasting for over a decade so far and I have no intention of leaving your small screen anytime soon.

Right now, I am hosting the Euromillions draw on Friday nights on BBC1 alongside the lovely Tim Vincent, so go buy yourself a ticket and I will try and be your lucky star.

See you out there dudes!

Love S x
