International Women's Day Launch Party
Wednesday Jan 18, 2012

Oooo, I tell you what my New Year needed: a serious GLAMOUR INJECTION. And last night I found it at the launch of Oxfam's International Women's Day in London's fashionable Shoreditch. I put on my finest black Mamas And Papas frock and some skyscraper heels and totter-waddled down there to see what the evening had to offer.
International Women's Day is on March 6th 2012 and Oxfam are encouraging women all over the country to have a get together (a tea party, dinner, bake sale; whatever tickles your boat;)) to raise money to eradicate poverty and the culture of domestic violence against women all over the world. I absolutely can't think of a better reason to get cake baking, tea drinking and cake eating!
I went along with my gorgeous PR Charli, and our esteemed tv producer firecracker Gina and had a wonderful time. Whilst there I bumped into Brix Smith-Start who I did Angela And Friends with on Sky 1 last year and writers extraordinaire, Grace Dent and Caitlin Moran (who I Moonwalked with last year) along with the utterly fabulous Lauren Laverne who was hosting the whole shebang. I very much enjoyed seeing those lovely ladies and basking in their reflected glory for a little while;). I also bumped into the impossible glowy and gorgeous Caroline Flack and had a catch up with her too. She was telling me that Tilly The Fat Kitten's sister had been homed with none other than Jude Law (Caroline's BFF Josie is who we got Tilly from). I told Tilly this little snippet of info and half expected her to pack a rucksack and head off in search of her sister and her (probably) infinitely more glamourpuss life (sorry! Couldn't resist!) but all she did was purr and snuggle in a bit closer. She's clearly a girl's girl and not impressed by Mr Law at all; atta girl;)!!!
So we ate delicious canapés, I drank yummy Mocktails (everyone else drank champagne cocktails) and happily mingled before deciding that we would have a tea/dinner ourselves and raise some dosh. Here's hoping Cawood Jr stays put for the full term so I can organise said event and eat my body weight in cake that day.
Thank you Oxfam for inviting me along to your fab event. My glamourometer is well and truly topped up for a few weeks now...
Now I need to decide what to bake....
